The first stitches of my story...

I first started my theatre journey seeing my older brother's work in lighting.

I grew up in Ann Arbor, Michigan and first started being interested in theatre after my older brother worked on lighting throughout middle and high school. Learning to sew from teachers and family friends focused my interest to costuming, where my first constructed garment was a mascot costume for High School Musical that I made in 9th grade. Since then, I could not wait to keep making new costumes to further the productions I was a part of.

My favorite thing about producing costumes is being able to bring another creative's designs to life. I love the process of patterning and constructing a garment specific to a production. While I will always love building costumes and the problem solving that comes with them, I do love running wardrobe as well. Being able to help facilitate the changes that are such a magical part of the theatre we create is an extraordinary experience.

I recently graduated from Western Michigan University with a BFA in Theatre: Design and Technical Production. This summer I am working for the Texas Shakespeare Festival as a Stitcher/Dresser, and wardrobe supervisor on Macbeth. I am still looking for autumn work once this contract ends in July.
